News Detail
As news continues to develop around the Corona Virus (COVID-19), Kai Opua Canoe Clubs Executive Board have decided to proceed with the original date of the 2020 Queen Liliuokalani Long Distance Canoe Race week set for Thursday, September 3 through Monday, September 7 in Kailua-Kona Hawaii.
The Executive Board is taking necessary safety standard steps along with extra precautions as recommended by the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We are carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are following the guidelines set forth by government and local agencies.
We recommend booking flights now with airlines that are offering change fee waivers in the unfortunate event of cancellation, and purchasing travel insurance. The amount of time between now and the 2020 Queen Liliuokalani Long Distance Canoe Race week provides optimism for us as other sports and events are rescheduling for late summer as well.
Kai Opua Canoe Club is doing their best to keep everyone up to date. Be sure to frequently check your email, https://www.qlcanoerace.com/, and the Queen Liliuokalani Long Distance Canoe Race and Kai Opua Canoe Club Facebook pages.
